Carro - Iluminação e textura/ Car - Lighting and Texturing

We had this exercise a few weeks ago so we could learn more about the render tree and some of its features regarding texture and how to react it with lighting.

Nós tivemos esse exercício há algumas semanas para aprender sobre a Render Tree e algumas de suas funções de textura e luz.

On the first class we fooled around a bit with Mix 2 Colors, incidence and a few of the maps in order to create a pleasant look. So I came up with this.

Na primeira aula nós brincamos um pouco com a função Mix 2 Colors, incidência de luz e alguns dos mapas de textura pra criar um visual legal. Então, eu fiz isso.

As a reference I chose later on a Red Bull merchandise car.

Como referência, depois, eu escolhi um carro desses da Red Bull.

Then, next class we learned about integrating what we had learnt with decals plus Final Gathering and Global Ilumination, and constant materials, as opposed to Fakeosity. As a result...i did this.

Então, na próxima aula nós aprendemos sobre integrar o que já havíamos aprendido com a ferramenta Final Gathering, Global Ilumination e materiais com cores constantes, ao invés de Fakeosity. O resultado foi esse.

I'll post the final image once I have it reviewed, but this was one of the coolest assignments to be done, so far.

O resultado final vou postar quando tiver o exercício corrigido, mas esse foi um dos mais legais até agora de se fazer.

Clipes em 3D/ 3D music videos

Começarei essa nova aba do blog com um clipe nacional que foi feito em meados de 2002, eu acho. Se não me engano foi um dos primeiros clipes nacionais a serem 100% 3D.

I'll start this new tab with a brazilian music video that was made back in 2002, i guess. If I'm not mistaken this was one of the first brazilian music videos made fully on 3D.

A música é Segredos, do cantor Frejat. Esse clipe ganhou o premio de melhor Clipe em 2002 pela MTV Video Music Brasil. É um tanto antigo, mas acho que chegaram num resultado muto bom pra época.

The tune is called Segredos by Frejat. The video earned the Best Music Video Award by the MTV VMA. It's a bit old but they achieved a very nice result for a video with 7 years old.

I cant wait to see this film. Tim Burton's debut on 3D films with a Sci-Fi thematic to it! The looks is awesome and the plot sounds very interesting.

Eu mal posso esperar pra ver esse filme. A estréia do Tim Burton em filmes 3D com o tema de ficção científica! O filme está com uma aparência bacana e a história me parece bem interessante.

Who's up for some animation?? / Quem quer animaçao??

E ae galerinha! Esse é o primeiro exercicio de animação que postarei, mesmo que eu o tenha feito já faz algum tempo.

Hey buddies! This is the first animation exercise I'm posting, even though it was made a while ago.

Esse exercicio foi de um conceito chamado de Follow Through, o que é basicamente o movimento da cauda do ratinho.

The concept used for this is called Follow Through, which is basically the little rat's tail movement

O desafio aqui foi, além do movimento da cauda, fazer com que o rato não deslizasse nas curvas e dar vida a ele conforme ele tentava achar o queijo.

The challenge here, besides the tail's movement, was to prevent the rat to slide around the corners and give it life as he tried to get to the cheese.

Pelo seu movimento fluido, a animação acabou sendo praticamente "quadro-a-quadro", o que significa que tentei evitar ao máximo que o programa calculasse o que o rato deveria fazer.

Due to its very fluid movement, the animation ended up being nearly frame by frame, which means I tried the to avoid the computer to calculate what the rat had to do, making me add a pose every frame.

Ainda tem muito o que melhorar, mas foi preciso ir adiante com o conteúdo, embora fiquei até satisfeito com o resultado.

I still have so much to improve on this exercise, but I had to move forward with other content, although I was quite pleased with the final result.
